The Basics

iLok is a copy protection method used by many of our brands.

It has 3 types of activations, iLok USB, iLok Machine, and iLok Cloud.

Different brands/products will offer different iLok methods. iLok USB is always an option, but the availability of iLok Cloud and iLok Machine methods is at the discretion of the software developer.

iLok Account

For all iLok protected products, you will need an iLok account. You can create one for free here: ilok.com/#!registration

iLok License Manager

To manage your iLok licenses, there is a dedicated app called iLok License Manager. This app is used to register, activate, and move your licenses between locations.

iLok USB Key

iLok USB

This activation is stored on an iLok 2 or 3 USB key.

It is the best option for portability, if you frequently move between multiple machines, and offline use.

iLok Machine ID

Machine ID

This activation is stored locally on your computer.

While this is a convenient way to work offline, and does not require the additional cost of an iLok USB, there is the risk of a license being lost in the case of a drive failure.

This option also requires extra care when you upgrade to a new computer, the license(s) must be deactivated on your old machine first to ensure you do not lose them.

iLok Cloud

iLok Cloud

This activation is based online, and requires a "cloud session" using the iLok License Manager.

It requires an active internet connection for the entire time you use the plugin(s).

Synchron Cymbals & Gongs III is a subset of the Synchron Percussion III Collection and includes several suspended cymbals, piatti, and ancient cymbals. What's more, this collection also offers the powerful cymbal and metal ensembles of Big Bang Orchestra: Dorado, as well as the High Gongs Ensemble of BBO: Fornax (Pitched Percussion Ensembles).

Solo Instruments

  • Piatti Sabian 20"
  • Sizzle cymbal Zildjian 18"
  • Splash cymbals Zildjian 8", 12"
  • Suspended cymbals Zildjian K 18", 12", 8"
  • Ancient cymbals (finger cymbals)

The piatti, which are played in pairs, were recorded with normal and muted release, as well as loose, sizzling, dragged over each other, and scratched. The suspended cymbals were played with sticks, mallets, rods, brushes, as well as bowed. The instruments were sampled with up to 12 dynamic levels and up to 6 round robins for single strokes.

Ensembles

This library includes ensembles of up to six musicians each that are also included in the Big Bang Orchestra Packs Dorado and Fornax:

  • Suspended cymbal ensemble (big, medium, and small Zildjian cymbals)
  • Super crashes ensemble (big, medium, and small piatti)
  • Big Metal ensemble (big and small tam-tam, medium and low plate bells, big suspended cymbal, anvil)
  • Small Metal ensemble (big and small triangle, big and small jingle ring, big and medium suspended cymbal)
  • High Gongs ensemble (medium suspended cymbal, triangles, burma gongs)

Microphone Positions

Both library portions include the same set of articulations. The Standard Library offers close, mid, and main (Decca Tree stereo and center) microphone positions. The Full Library adds surround, high stereo, and high surround outriggers that enrich your stereo output or can be used to mix in immersive audio formats such as Dolby Atmos and Auro3D 9.1 using the Synchron Player's full-fledged mixer. A host of mixer presets deliver a masterfully crafted sound out-of-the-box or serve as starting points for your own sonic creations.
